Healing

After several days resting my back is slowly returning to normal. Flexeril, Ibuprofen and a comfy bed can all be thanked.

Allison is visiting Georgia this Saturday leaving me to fend for myself until Wednesday. I would have gone too, but I have no vacation time until December. I plan on taking all five days of it for Christmas. So that leaves me here. I had originally planned to bust out a ton of home renovation projects, but I’m afraid to stress the back too much just yet. Maybe just some painting.

Other than that, not much going on at the moment. I’m just about finished converting the Village RV site to all XHTML/CSS. Nary a table in site. I’ve still got some IE hacks to put in place I’m sure, but for the most part we are good to go.

Oh My Aching Back

Sunday after standing up from tying my shoe, the right side of my back decided it was tired of assisting me in being vertical. So it freaked out, spasmed and I became horizontal for the rest of the day.

Monday, although still sore, I figured I was good to go and drove into the office. After an hour or so I walked down the stairs to the employee lounge to get a plastic fork. Upon returning to my desk my back once again decided it was a good day to lay down. I ended up flat on my back in my office.

After knocking my keyboard on to the ground and IMing Allison she reminded me of the cellphone in my pocket. I called down to the front desk and described my situation. A few of the employees were kind enough to bring me some Advil and a giant bag of ice for my back. After nearly 30 minutes I was able to get to my feet and was driven home laying on the bed in an RV. Super nice of my fellow employees ( another salesperson drove my Jeep back to the house as well)!

Yesterday, I spent the entire day in bed. Although I am able to get up an move around now, I can tell that any undue strain will have my back showing me who’s boss again. Hopefully my doc appointment today will help in some way (although I can feel the typical ibuprofen persciption is very likely)

My boss said it best…”You know you are getting old when you hurt yourself getting dressed!”

Wordpress Update

Well, I updated my WordPress installation the other day. It seemed to go ok, but now strange things are happening. When I logged on today, I recieved a brief error that the password field was empty (it wasn’t) but then it proceeded to log me in anyway…Hmmm.

Nasty yellow skyIt is sooo spooky in Sacramento today. The sky is very cloudy and the air is full of smoke making it yellow outside. The sun is also completely red. Creepy!
